Whether it's one tree on a Maketu residential section or a full lot clearance on a lifestyle block, the process is the same — site visit, honest quote, proper job. We don't quote off photos or descriptions. Trees are too variable for that.
We cover tree cutting across Maketu and surrounding areas in the Western Bay of Plenty. All sizes, all species. Call Kauri directly on 027 600 0446.
Tree cutting in Maketu is primarily reactive work — storm damage after coastal weather events, fallen branches on the road through the village, and sections being cleared for renovation or development. The exposed coastal position at the mouth of the Kaituna River and Tauranga Harbour means wind events regularly bring down branches and occasional whole trees. We respond to emergency cutting calls the same day where possible. When a pohutukawa limb comes down across the Maketu access road or onto an adjacent property, getting it cleared quickly is the priority. For planned section clearing, we work around the tight site constraints that characterise this coastal village — Maketu's sections are not large, and debris handling on a narrow residential site requires planning to avoid damaging lawns, gardens, and access. Sandy soil means we can often work closer to the house foundation than we could in clay areas, but it also means machinery needs to be positioned carefully to avoid rutting the lawn. WBOPDC coastal rules apply to all tree work in Maketu. Resource consent is required for significant pohutukawa work. We advise on this at the site visit.
