Once a tree is down in Paengaroa, the stump is what's left — and it's usually more of a problem than people expect. Trip hazard, mower obstacle, sprouting regrowth, or just in the way of whatever you want to do with the space. Grinding takes it below ground level and leaves the site clean.
We grind stumps across Paengaroa and the Western Bay of Plenty. All sizes from small garden stumps to large trunks. Can be combined with tree removal or done as a standalone job. Call 027 600 0446.
Stump grinding in Paengaroa is most often requested after shelter tree removal on orchard and farm properties — the stump left behind is an obstacle for cultivation, machinery movement, and replanting. We grind to 150–200mm below grade as standard, and deeper on request for areas that will be cultivated or re-grassed. The alluvial soils of the Paengaroa lowlands are relatively good for grinding — not as heavy as the hill country clays, and macrocarpa roots through this area tend to be manageable in size. For stumps in orchard paddocks where replanting is planned, we recommend removing the grindings entirely rather than leaving them to break down — macrocarpa and pine grindings are high in carbon and will draw nitrogen away from new plantings as they decompose. We haul grindings away or leave them spread depending on the client's preference and the planned use of the site. The flat terrain of Paengaroa means machinery access is generally straightforward. Western Bay of Plenty District Council applies. Free site assessments.
